Synopsis: Is the origin of Coca-Cola in Valencia? Or so they say at the Botelleria de Aielo de Malferit. The story goes that the Kola-Coca Nut, the star drink of this liquor factory, arrived in the United States, curiously enough, a year before the invention – with a practically identical composition – of the most famous soft drink in the world. Coincidence? Plagiarism? Could it be that the famous secret formula for Coca Cola was invented by three friends from this town?
At 144 years old, this distillery is a treasure chest full of stories of incalculable value for Aielo de Malferit. It forms part of the DNA, culture and customs of this small municipality. Its acclaimed liqueurs and syrups run in the blood of its inhabitants. Without its Botelleria, the town would not be the same. It is ‘the spark of Aielo’.
